Join the Paracademy team this winter grab some snowy air and get to grips with this new exciting snow sport. It’s the latest thing to hit winter scene and has grown steadily over the past few years.
So whether you are beginning, just cruising, free styling or even thinking of kiting to the Pole check this out...
Paracademy has been in there from the start and runs IKO snowkite courses from beginner to instructor levels. The team has run courses across Europe and as far a field as New Zealand. This year has even seen Neil Godbold the team’s head snowkite teacher training the Royal Marines for their South Pole expedition, which is now underway and will see the Polar Quest team snowkiting back from the Pole. So you will be in good hands whether you are new to the sport completely or already kite surf or landboard and want to try the snow as your next kiting challenge!

This winter season Paracademy X will be running a series of snowkite camps from the Lake Silvaplana in the Swiss Alps. The location is perfect for people wanting to learn the sport, with the spot offering miles of perfect flat snow on top of the frozen lake. Silvaplana’s geographical location also uniquely provides a consistent wind pattern, with valley winds driving up from Italy across the Engadine lake plateau, providing a prevailing south west wind generally between 3-5 bft. during the winter months.
Locally Paracademy X has joined forces with Kitesailing Silvaplana who operate a school at the edge of the lake. This not only enables Paracademy X to ensure you have all the correct equipment for the day’s conditions, but also provides a café to warm up in after a hard days kiting on the lake. Plus there is the all important kite shop for those bits and pieces you might find you suddenly can’t live without.
Paracademy X snowkite camps will be running between January and April.
